Home Depot uses teleCheck. In 2023, Home Depot accepts both personal and company checks. To approve a check, customers must present a government-issued picture ID, and Home Depot will use TeleCheck to authenticate all checks to guarantee they do not bounce.
A third-party computer system, TeleCheck, validates checks at Home Depot. TeleCheck will compare the information you submit to its records to determine the likelihood that the check you’ve provided will bounce. The verification process also determines the legitimacy of the check and whether or not it is safe to accept. As a result, home Depot will no longer carry checks from customers who have previously paid with a failed check to prevent future check bounces. In addition, bounced checks are frequently charged a fee based on the check amount.

For example, you can pay exclusively with cash or personal checks at Home Depot.
